Yu Zhu (), known in English as Solomon's Seal or Fragrant Solomon's Seal, is the dried rhizome of Polygonatum odoratum. Its name translates poetically as 'jade bamboo', a reference to the plant's lustrous, jointed rhizome that resembles a string of jade beads. In traditional Chinese medicine it is prized as a gentle yet reliable tonic for Yin deficiency, particularly when the Lungs and Stomach are parched by heat, chronic illness, or constitutional dryness.
