Apakah Buah Ara Kering?

Dried Fig (Wu Hua Guo, ) — whose name means "fruit without flower" in Chinese, reflecting the hidden flowers inside the fig — is a gentle, nourishing food-herb that has been used in Chinese medicine since the Dinasti Ming. Its sweet, mild nature makes it one of the most approachable medicinal foods, suitable for people of all ages.

Sweet and neutral in nature, Dried Fig enters the Lung, Spleen, and Large Intestine channels. It moistens the Lung to relieve dry cough, soothes and clears heat from the throat, strengthens the Spleen, and lubricates the Large Intestine for gentle, comfortable bowel movement. It is a favourite ingredient in Cantonese herbal soups, particularly in autumn and winter formulas for respiratory dryness.

Sejarah & Asal Usul

The fig is native to the Middle East and western Asia, introduced to China during the Dinasti Tang through Silk Road trade. It was adopted into Chinese medicine by the Dinasti Ming and has been a staple of Cantonese medicinal cuisine ever since.

Dinasti Tang Introduction
Figs were introduced to China via the Silk Road during the Dinasti Tang (618–907 CE), initially cultivated as a novelty fruit before being recognised for their medicinal properties.
Dinasti Ming — Bencao Gangmu (1596)
Li Shizhen formally documented the fig's medicinal properties, noting its ability to strengthen the Spleen, clear heat, detoxify, and relieve sore throat and dysentery.
Cantonese Soup Tradition
Dried Figs became a beloved ingredient in Cantonese herbal soup culture — particularly in autumn and winter moistening soups for Lung dryness, dry cough, and sore throat.
Era Moden
Penyelidikan moden has identified ficin (a proteolytic enzyme), polyphenols, and dietary fibre in Dried Figs with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and digestive health properties.
